Time for a Road Trip

Time for a Road Trip

Grab a few friends and/or family and head to Branson, MO for a fun weekend get-away!

Branson is an Ozark town in southwest Missouri, approximately a 4 hour drive from St. Louis, MO. From St. Louis head west on Hwy. 44.  Take in the beautiful scenic views as you head through Ozark Country.

Be sure to stop at Redmond's Candy Factory just off Highway 44 in Phillipsburg, MO, to stock up on that old-fashioned salt water taffy and handmade chocolates.  Once you settle into Branson, head down to the Branson Landing for a fun, night on the town. Located in between the Lake Taneycomo waterfront and Historic Downtown Branson, Branson Landing is a one-stop shop for great dining, shopping, entertainment and attractions.

Begin the evening with a great meal from one of the many restaurants at the Branson Landing, many of which have patio seating overlooking beautiful Lake Taneycomo. After dinner, stroll along the lakeside boardwalk, and be sure to stop and take time to enjoy the magnificent Branson Landing Fountains. Choreographed water, fire and music shows run on the hour beginning at noon.

Finish out the evening with your choice of entertainment. From bowling to ziplines, or simply sit back and enjoy live music, Branson Landing has an activity everyone will enjoy!

Sleep in then experience an amazing brunch at Big Cedar Lodge, where the delicious aroma of french toast will start the tummy rumbling. Walk off that brunch and take in the many museums and attractions, there is to see.

Spend the day on the water at Table Rock Lake, or play a round of golf at one of Branson’s award-winning courses. Finish the evening at Chateau on the Lake with a delicious dinner then treat yourself to freshly baked pastries, hand-dipped ice cream, cookies, candies and classic soda fountain drinks at the Chateau's Sweet Shoppe, while watching the sun set over Table Rock Lake.

Five Reasons it is Good for Business

  1. Employees may feel more relaxed.

  2. Great perks and options for employees.
Provide transportation cost savings for employees.
  3. Could impove recruitment and retention efforts.
Support a reasonable work-life balance by providing great options for your employees.  A shuttle program may help attract more new hires and reduce turnover. May improve work environment as well as overall morale.
  4. May provide cost savings for company.
May be more cost effective to provide a shuttle, than buying more land for parking lots and/or parking garages.Take advantage of tax credits that may be offered for commuter programs.
  5. Going green helps everybody!
Encouraging your employees to ride share and join the company shuttle greatly reduces your company’s carbon footprint. Fewer vehicles on the road is a good move for your company, your employees, and your community.

Thank you St Louis and Happy New Year

Thank you St Louis and Happy New Year

Cover Photo by Author of Downtown St. Louis on a December Night

Hope everyone had a Wonderful Christmas Holiday spending the Season with Family and Friends sharing in the true spirit and meaning;

"To give up of one's self - to think only of others - how to bring the greatest happiness to others - that is the true meaning of Christmas"

The American Magazine, vol. 28 (1889), p. 742.

This doesn't mean you have to go to extremes or try to make giving too difficult.  You can find examples of living the true meaning of Christmas all over the world, in your own communities and in your own life.  It can be a simple gesture to another, a small act of kindness or having the opportunity and time to give in any way possible.

Gateway Arch 50th Anniversary

Gateway Arch 50th Anniversary

The final section of the St. Louis Gateway Arch was set in place 50 years ago on October 28th, 1965.  This was a momentous moment in the History of the Gateway Arch and it's Engineering Accomplishments.  There were so many factors that needed to be perfect for that final piece to fit seamlessly in place.  All of the work on the two legs had to be precise so they would meet 630 feet at the top.  The Arch's surface temperature had to be just right so the completed sections had not shrunk or expanded.  And of course the weather had to cooperate so that final piece could be raised to the top, lowered in to place and secured to complete the Arch almost four years after construction began on its foundations.

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS on OCTOBER 28th

On Wednesday October 28th you can meet those who constructed the Arch at the Missouri History Museum from 9:00AM to 10:30AM.  There will be a Birthday Party in front of the Old Courthouse at 11:00AM followed with $1 Tram Rides to the top of the Arch all day, cup cakes from Sarah's Cake Stop and Destination Desserts from 11:30AM to 1:30PM and Commemorative Merchandise for sale.
