Christmas Traditions

The tradition of lighting the Christmas Tree can be followed back to the 1800’s in Germany when families lit their Holiday Trees with candles.  A colleague of Thomas Edison was later noted to have created the first electrically lit Christmas Tree.  The tradition of lighting the Holiday Tree expanded to decorating streets and buildings later that century in England and then spread to North America.  By the mid-1900’s the decorating of homes and buildings with red, green, white and blue Christmas lights had become very popular.

Make the most of this Special Time of Year by enjoying all St. Louis and its residents have to share and celebrate.  Create Holiday Traditions with your Family or Friends by taking in the beauty of the Lights and then endulging yourself with some of St. Louis Favorites like TED DREWES Frozen Custard, chilli and sandwiches at CROWN CANDY Kitchen or one of my favorites, the Fountain on Locust for delicious soups, sandwiches and sundaes.  The following is some information and links that should be helpful in planning your Holiday Season Celebration and Tours;
